PREP (Parish Religious Education Program) Whether your children are just starting to learn about our Catholic faith or preparing to celebrate the sacraments of Reconciliation, First Communion, or Confirmation, or continuing to grow in knowledge and love of the Lord through ongoing faith formation classes, the parish Religious Ed program is here to help! The Parish Religious Ed classes primarily help to fill the gap in Catholic religious education that is encountered by familieswhose children attend public, charter, or private, non-Catholic schools. 2024-2025 CLASS SCHEDULE: Classes will be held on Sundays: 10:10 am -11:10 am— Monthly & parents and child training plus one outside activity a month We are excited to announce that PREP registration is now open. You can register on the website or in the office.
A Family of Faith The goals of this program are to encourage and equip parents to live and teach their children the Catholic Faith within the domestic churches. They will be provided with all the knowledge and tools you need to enliven your faith within your home! 1. A catechist will lead a monthly “Parent Meeting” to review the specific plan for each month and provide parents with the necessary knowledge to teach their children. 2. During this time, the children will also go into the classroom to ensure that the information from the lessons is being understood and to touch base on how the practices in the home are affecting their spiritual lives. 3. At the end of the month, there is a “Community Meeting” where the parents and their children come together and participate in activities with the other families in our parish.
This is not merely a program to educate children with Catechism memorization but to help them develop an authentic relationship with God. It is designed to help children (and parents!) fall in love with our Lord through everyday faith practices. We hope all parents will take advantage of this excellent opportunity to grow in faith with their children as they journey to heaven!
